HEROES ANONIMOUS of a Brilliant Struggle:

You are all invited to the UP College of Fine Arts’ exhibition opening of HEROES ANONIMOUS Of a Brilliant Struggle: Artmaking and Artmakers of the School of Fine arts (1908-1948) on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 5 pm at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila on Roxas Blvd. next to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

 

The exhibition, curated by Philippine art historian and UP CFA faculty Prof. Santiago Pilar, ushers in the centennial year of the College of Fine Arts, as one of the founding units when UP was constituted in 1908. It features works and artists from an unheralded chapter in Philippine art and the UP College of Fine arts from 1908-1948 (pre-war).

You are cordially invited to the premiere opening of HEROËS ANONIMOUS of a Brilliant Struggle: Art Making and Art Makers of the UP School of Fine Arts (1908-1948) on Thursday, 31 January, 2008 at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila on Roxas Blvd at 5 pm.
HEROËS ANONIMOUS

The exhibition is a collaboration between the UP College of Fine Arts, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Metropiltan Museum of Manila, and private collectors who lent their works for this exhibition. The exhibition curator, Prof. Santiago Pilar, well known art historian and faculty of CFA gathered photographs and works of artists who were teachers and students at what was then called the UP School of Fine Arts from 1908-1948 (prewar).
