The class will be taught by Katti Sta. Ana, community artist-in-residence at Baltimore Clayworks (2009-2010). She took her BFA at the UP College of Fine Arts and earned her MA in Community Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art as a Fulbright scholar. She currently is a lecturer at the UP College of Fine Arts Studio Arts Department.

Symposium 1: “Chabet 50 Years”
As a run-up to a multi venue, and year-long art celebration in 2011-12, entitled “Chabet: 50 Years”, the UP College of Fine Arts will host the first of a 2-part symposium in recognition of the mentoring years of Mr. Chabet for 3 decades at CFA, on Friday, 19 November 2010 at 2 pm at the CFA Auditorium.
Ringo Bunoan, lead curator of Chabet:50 Years and researcher of The Chabet Archive, a landmark research on the work of Mr. Chabet which was co-launched by Asia Art Archive and Lopez Memorial Museum in 2009, will be the main presentor and will introduce The Chabet Archive and exhibitions included in Chabet:50 Years.
“Chabet: 50 Years” will recognize Roberto Chabet’s pioneering conceptual work and role in shaping contemporary Philippine art, as artist, curator and teacher. Aside from the UP College of Fine Arts, other participating venues and institutions include Osage Art Foundation in Hongkong and Singapore, Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), La Salle College of Arts in Singapore, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Ateneo de Manila Art Gallery, and various galleries in MetroManila.

Open Studio: CFA Art Fair 2010
As in previous years, all classrooms and studios will be open at the 2010 CFA ArtFair: *<OPEN STUDIO>*, to art friends, parents of students, and alumni , to showcase the works of CFa student artists, their talents and skills in live academic studio settings. The 2010 CFA ArtFair will witness artists at work -creating ceramics and pottery, painting Chinese calligraphy, demonstrating batik prints, body art, silkscreening, cartooning, and printmaking. Artworks of students, and some alumni will go on exhibit throughout the day, and will be sold for the benefit of CFA and its students.

Pinhole Photography Exhibit
The third annual pinhole photography exhibition of the second year Industrial Design students is centered on the concept of the establishing shot of a movie through the use of a series of panoramic photographs. The exhibit is a product of an activity that allowed the students to explore and employ the unique characteristics attributed to pinhole photography to give them a better understanding of the entire photographic process from camera production to image creation.

Seasoned photographer, Vic Sison, will give a special lecture and demonstration on “Portrait Photography “ to camera buffs and students at the UP College of Fine Arts. He will address problems as well as provide tips when taking portraits in the best possible angles in the best light.

Round Table Discussions led by Gaston Damag and Goetz Arndt
Leading the panel of discussions on the topic of ” Traditional and Industrial Materials in Current Sculpture Practice and Urban Settings” are Paris-based Filipino artist Gaston Damag and German artist and professor at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, Goetz Arndt. Two Philippine-based artists and sculptors Jeremy Guiab and Reggie Yuson will be joining them in the exchange of ideas and processes relevant to their works and environment. Sandra Palomar will moderate.
