The UP College of Fine Arts takes center stage in the annual Lantern Parade, held a day before the start of the long Christmas vacation.
The whole UP community gears up for Christmas by celebrating this campus tradition with originally crafted lanterns and floats which they enter in the annual competition.
For a couple of weeks leading up to the event, the FA grounds are abuzz with activity as students apply their imagination and creativity to construct the most beautiful and most colorful lanterns and floats. Though no longer eligible to compete for awards after having been elevated to the Hall of Fame and officially designated as the traditional finale, the UP College of Fine Arts’ participation in the Lantern Parade remains to be the most eagerly anticipated every year.
